Kaltern
Kaltern is in the middle of a Garden of Eden that has been blessed with great variety and beauty by Mother Nature. Kaltern enjoys an average of around 300 days of sunshine per year and is thus the driest area in the Alps. So what are you waiting for? It’s time to visit the sun-kissed south!
Culture in and around Kaltern
Take a walk to the ruins of St. Peter’s Basilica in Altenburg or to the ruined Leuchtenburg castle, which dates from 1250 and which overlooks Lake Kalterer. In the South Tyrolean Wine Museum you can discover many interesting things about the development and history of winegrowing in the south. The cultural programme includes organ concerts, open-air concerts, theatre performances and guided wine cellar tours and wine tastings.
